A closer look at the details.

We look at the packaging, the product and its records together. These are the details that inform our review.

  • Packaging & presentation

Printing, branding, materials and applicable seals, including signs of tampering.

  • Bottle & components

The bottle, cap and atomizer, considered alongside the product's stated condition.

  • Identifiers & records

UPC and batch details where applicable, checked against the available documentation.

A code is one piece of the picture. A barcode scan or batch-code lookup alone is not proof of authenticity.

Approved for release

Required checks are complete and the merchandise is approved.

Quarantine

Keep the item out of sale. Review records and contact the supplier.

After review: release, return, rejection or removal. Suppliers with repeated problems are suspended.

From sourcing to support.

Explore the six procedures behind the checks.

Supplier onboardingUnderstand who supplies us and where the merchandise comes from.

We verify a supplier's business identity, contact details, history and commercial purchase records. Where relevant, we also request registrations, references, catalogs or authenticity statements.

Suppliers who cannot explain the origin of their merchandise are not approved.

Purchase recordsConnect each purchase to its supporting documentation.

We compare invoices, order confirmations and packing slips for supplier details, dates, document numbers, product descriptions, quantities and identifiers where applicable.

Discrepancies are investigated rather than treated as routine paperwork differences.

Receiving & inspectionHold incoming inventory until the checks are complete.

We count incoming packages, compare the physical merchandise with its records and document relevant observations with photos. Inventory stays on hold pending inspection.

After review, merchandise is approved, quarantined, returned or rejected. It is not released for sale before the required checks are complete.

Product & packaging checksLook at the product as a whole, not a single code.

Where applicable, we compare UPC and batch identifiers and inspect seals, signs of tampering, printing, branding, packaging materials and components. We account for the product's stated format and condition.

A barcode scan or batch-code lookup alone is not proof of authenticity. Testers and hand-filled decants are not represented as factory-sealed retail bottles.

Questionable merchandiseKeep unresolved items out of sale.

We quarantine questionable items, review the supporting records and contact the supplier. Depending on the findings, an item may be released, returned, rejected or removed from sale.

Suppliers with repeated problems are suspended.

Returns depend on the format.

Unopened, sealed retail bottles are eligible for return within 30 days, subject to our return policy. Testers, travel sprays, decants and samples are final sale for change-of-mind returns.

Damage, wrong-item and authenticity concerns are reviewed separately. Customers pay return shipping for eligible change-of-mind returns. We do not offer exchanges or charge a restocking fee.
